Weekend

I had a great weekend. Saturday was a surprise birthday for my uncle who just turned 50. We had food and cake and a lot of time to spend together. I enjoyed it so much, except for the wind. It was terrible, the paper plates and cups would fly away if you didn't hold them, and even the potato chips would blow right off your plate.
Then, My cousin Tina came over that evening, along with her mom (great Aunt Mae) and her sons Ben and Alex, and Alex's girlfriend Jennifer. It was nice to have them over. We are always rolling in laughter when they visit.
Also, over the weekend we decided to re-do our kitchen cabinets. We have to sand them down, which takes forever, then paint them with Milk Paint. It looks really good, but it will take a while to get them finished.
I had a great weekend and loved spending every minute of it with my family. Nothing means more to me than my family!

People have been arguing this pull between creation and evolution ever since Charles Darwin's Theory.

Today, a conversation began between me and a boy on the bus. He asked me what kind of music I listened to and I told him Christian.

He said, "so then, your a christian?" I nodded. He said, " I'm a christian too."

I said, "Cool, that's good."

"But, I don't really believe everything that's in the bible." he said

" you have to believe in the bible to be a Christian."

" I am more of a scientific kind of person." he said.

He thinks that the Bible wasn't translated correctly because it is in a different language than the original. He was arguing evolution against creationism as well. He believe we came from Micro-organisms (soup)

He said"And the guy who wrote it, Jesus or something, died a long time ago. He couldn't have written the bible in translation himself."and he also said that the New Testement was crap, whatever he meant by that.

It was a short ride on the bus, and I didn't get the chance to tell him that Jesus didn't write the Bible. He is believing the theory of evolution that schools are teaching as fact.

Mother's Day Weekend.

Hello there,
Mother's day weekend was pretty good. My brother spent the night at a friends on friday and my sister was gone most of the evening, which gave me some time to hang out with my Mom, with out them.
Saturday my brother and his wife came over to celebrate Mom's day, before she left to visit her Mom in another state.
On Sunday, My brother came over early in the morning with Doughnuts from Krispy Kremes and they were mmm-mmm good. I made my Mom a card, gave her flowers and cleaned up the house. When we came back from church we watched several episodes of the TV show "Lost", the first season. It was really good.
That was my weekend, hanging out with my family and having a good time. Hope y'all had a weekend that was as great as mine!

I had a good weekend. Everything was absolutely beautiful.Everything is in bloom and colorful. I especially love the scent of lilacs. I went for about a mile walk around my town on Saturday. It was really windy and brushed through my hair, the sun was warm and inviting. I wish the weekend could have been longer. Sunday I went to church, spent part of the day dooing chores and getting ready for my cousin Tina to come up from West Virginia. She spent the night with us last night. She is so much fun to have around.
I didn't ever mentioin that we found kittens Tuesday, April 29 in our shed out back. That was the night the temperatures were supposed to drop to freezing. We brought them in the house along with the Momma cat - Daisy. She is actually our neighbor's cat & kittens, but they don't really care much about them. When it warmed back up we put them back in our shed. The are getting bigger and their eyes are starting to open. I am so excited. I want to keep the black and white one... if we can.
Anyways, the weekend was great, it just wasn't long enough.
Tomorrow will be the third of my Drivers Education. All we do is watch videos and fill out work sheets. It can get really boring, but hey, I'll have my license this summer!

Prom

Prom was absolutely dazzling! The decorations were great. We had sharks, fish, turtles, and coral props displayed through out, along with wall murals of whales and beautiful ocean scenery. It was wonderful. The tables were set with sand and sea shells in the center. The whole room was illuminated with a soft glow of light.
I got to spend the evening with all of my friends, especially my Senior friends who won't be there to share it with next year. They were a lot of fun. We all got in a group and were dancing. At one point we made a circle and pushed someone in the center to dance, and then they would push someone else in. It was hillarious. I had a great time.
I hope everyone else enjoyed it as mush as I did! (-:

My cousin Tina came up from West Virginia and spent the weekend with us. It was a lot of fun. I started reading Dawn's Light, which is the fourth book in a series written by Terry Blackstock. It is amazing. I am half way through the book and I started it Saturday afternoon.
Saturday evening we got surprise company. My aunt came over with her three children who are all grown up with boyfriends and children. There were 4 young children roaming around, and 7 adults - not including my family. Altogether there were 9 adults and 7 kids, which may not sound like a lot but it is the most "surprise company" we've had without planning like a family get together. So anyways, we all had soo much fun enjoying each others company that we decided to get together at our house again, invite more family and watch old home videos from when they were all younger, on April 27. I am looking forward to that, even though it will be the day right after Prom.
I went to church Sunday morning and evening. That was fun and interesting. Nothing else really happened. Usually my Brother and his wife get to come over on Saturdays, but they were busy. I missed them. But,I had a really good weekend. It was fun!

Closer Walk

This weekend has been a wonderful experience. Everything that happened brought me to a closer walk with God. On Friday, my friend Tim took my sister and I to a Spaghetti dinner, in which a church had a fundraiser for their youth group. We had a good time talking and eating. Let me tell you what... No one should use plastic forks when eating spaghetti, it just doesn't work. My sister's Fork snapped in half and went flying into my hair! It was crazy. Either she didn't know her own strength, or the forks were really weak. But, it was funny.

Saturday was state FWB competitions. We had two young girls competing in bible memorization. I went with the church to take pictures for our Newsletter. I had to get up at 6:45 on Saturday and I didn't get home until 7:30. It was a long time. I never thought I'd be able to say that my feet & legs hurt from sitting!

It was really touching, being able to see 300 people gather to watch 80 contestants show there loyalty to God with bible memorization, skits, puppet shows, songs, playing instruments, art, photography, crafts... the list seem endless. One of the best parts was seeing a group of 5 young people, just in their first or second year of college, singing like angels and really understanding and expressing the words that flowed. I sat in awe, amazed at their talent and how they decided to use it for God.

I saw all of those people up there, doing it not just for their accomplishment, but doing it for God! I want to know where my place is, what should I be doing for God. I am at a place right now where I need to be deciding. I have just one more year in high school and then I'm out a here. I don't know if I should go into an actual college, or just take like a 1 year study course for photography, or if I should do something else entirely. I just feel like God is trying to lead me somewhere, but I'm having trouble figuring it out. With my mom crreating the new Church Newsletter I feel like I am able to use my talent for God, but I know it doesn't just stop there. Pray for me, that i will discover his will for my life. Its a struggle sometimes.

Sunday was a great church service and a wonderful day. The sun was shinning. I got to go out side with my brother and sister and play basketball. We cooked out and had an amazing time together. I am so thankful and glad with all that God has blessed me and my fafmily with. He is so loving and powerful. We are loved!

This week has been fairly good. I'm working hard in school, trying to keep up my grades. I went to a surprise birthday party on Tuesday. But he ended up finding out about it when someone called him and let it slip. It was still a surprise when he found out how many people showed up! We had cake and ice cream, and time to visit and have fun.
Wednesday, our church started watching the movie "facing the Giants" for our Wednesday night studies. It is really good. I didn't want to bust it up in segments, I wanted to watch it all at the same time. We talked about it after, and related it to our lives and personal walk with God.
This week has gone by fast. You know what they say...
"Time flies when your having fun!"

Spring Break !

Hello, Hope you had a good Easter!

Thursday, I babysat two young children after school for a lady at church. Then, I got up the next morning and had to babysit for another family from 7:00 am - 5:00 pm. It was a long time, but they were good.
On Easter Sunday we went to church and had a wonderful service. We came home, painted Easter Eggs, and had an Easter egg hunt. It was so much fun, My mom and Dad actually went outside and played it with us.... Actually they were the ones who started the game. Then, because we were having so much fun, we lost track of time and were almost late to our evening church service. My older brother and his wife went with us. The service was absolutely inspiring. After Church was over, my brother amazed my pastor with a Ring and chain. They had a large group of people admiring them, and trying to figure out the "secret." Its hard to explain, you just had to have been there!
Easter night, my little brother and I spent the night an my Older brother and his wife's house. We had a lot of fun hanging out and talking. We went out to eat at BWW, and then went home.

My family and I went to Kentucky on Thursday to visit our family. We came back Sunday Afternoon. It was so much fun to get to spend time with family we don't get to see very often. I really enjoyed my Spring break!!!!!!!!

Happy St. Patricks day

Saturday was fun, My brother and his wife came over and spent the day with us (as they usually do on Saturdays). Then, we went to look at a house that was for sale in a little town about 30 minutes from our house. My brother was thinking about purchasing it, but no decisions have been made yet. It would be nice to have them a little closer to home. I wish they could find a house closer yet than that. That would be great. After looking at the house, we bought pizza, went for a walk, and watched a movie. It was fun.
Sunday. We were getting ready for church when my cousin showed up to visit. My dad stayed home and they visited together, and my mom, my sister and I went to church. When we came home, my cousin called and said he was going to come over with his baby Tristan, and my aunt. I ended up getting to hold Tristan nearly the entire time. He was so handsome and well behaved. He was kind of squirmy, but he never cried.
My sister shared her talent- playing the banjo. And My Cousin got out the guitar and played a few songs. We enjoyed their company.
Then it was time for our evening church service, in which our pastor talked us into playing and singing in front of the church. Mom played the guitar and my sister played the banjo. We all sang " This little light of mine." My sister played a solo song on her banjo- "I'll Fly Away" and then my younger Brother, sister and I sang together a song - without music. I was really nervous, but I thought we did really well. After church we recieved tons of compliments. Mom was really proud.
I had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed spending time with my family and my church family. Everyone is always encouraging and supportive.
Then, I got up this morning and came to school.
March 17 2008, Happy St. Patrick's Day!
We love Patty!!!!! - (inside joke)
